What’s better than fresh food at the farmer’s market? Or entertaining flashmobs? How about both of them together?
This Friday the 24th @SanditonDance and @SanditonFarMar are doing a collaboration where @SanditonDance will choreograph a flash mob. What will they be doing? Who knows, they could be doing anything with a flashmob- but rest assured, it will be totally awesome. Don’t doubt that.
There’s a few names, that you may possibly recognize, who will be in the flash mob tomorrow; @RegencyFlorist @SanditonStyle @SanditonPublish @hazel_sanditon @Thriftnsanditon @AllieRBenson
Will you go out and enjoy the flash mob tomorrow? It’s at the Corner of Mansfield and Northanger. I’ll be sure to be there :)

The Sanditon Library has unveiled its new logo. It depicts an open book with a tree growing out of it. On the tree’s branches are icons that represent geography/travel, music, theater, sports, and science. This is intended to convey the notion that the Library is not just about books; rather, it is about learning and growth, ideas and imagination. There is also another layer of meaning in that not only does the Library have books about these and other topics, but it also has CDs (music), DVDs (theater), maps (geography), computers (science), and games (sports). In addition, the Library offers numerous programs and services that incorporates many, if not all, of these elements.
The new logo was designed by the creative folks at Sanditon Pixels (@SanditonPixels), who went through many iterations in order to accommodate our ideas and suggestions.

At Penny’s Puppetorium, we put the “pet" back in “puppet"! In our puppet studio, you can make anything from a sock puppet to a ventriloquist dummy or even a marionette. Then, of course, you’ve got to outfit them in stylin’ clothing and accessories. Test drive your new friend in the backyard theater area and get lessons from our trained puppeteers! And then come on down for some puppetastic (What? That’s totally a word) inspiration on Friday and Saturday nights when we host our puppet theater series for children of all ages (light refreshments provided in ticket cost.)
Make a friend at Penny’s Puppetorium: you dream it, we puppet.

An authentic taco trailer from Austin, Texas is making Sanditon its home for the summer after hearing about Domino at SXSW.
Howdy Tacos owner and head chef Captain Kay, along with partner and driver Sailor Sam, decided on the move when it was announced that Austin’s famous South Congress food trailer park would be shut down by the end of May for hotel construction.
“We saw it as a sign for us personally to do something different,” Captain Kay said.Around the same time, they heard about Domino during Gigi Darcy’s visit to the SXSW conference in Austin and were intrigued by the idea of a new social app.
“Most social app news makes the rounds in the food trailer crowd, because we rely so heavily on tools such as Twitter to get the word out on where our trailer will be parked or what events we’ll be attending.”
A change in scenery was also appealing. “Sanditon sounded like a forward-thinking, community-oriented, laid back town on the beach. Things just aligned.”
So last week, Howdy Tacos set off in their custom Airstream travel trailer, Big Bettie, on a 25-hour road trip to California. “Those who own Airstreams are part of a special community,” Captain Kay said. “We’d get honks, flashing lights, and waves from any Airstream we passed, all the way from Austin to Sanditon.”
At Albuquerque, New Mexico they joined other Airstream travelers for a caravan ride down Route 66. Another memorable experience was camping in Grand Canyon National Park. “It was a really special moment to wake up in the morning to that view.”
Since arriving in Sanditon, the business has received a warm welcome. “It is a great town! Everyone, even before we arrived, seemed to be excited about reaching out to others in the community. That made it really easy to connect with other food establishments, as well as identify possible locations to park the trailer, and now to connect with who I call ‘Taco Enthusiasts.’”
Howdy Tacos are setting up their profile on Domino and plan to try it out soon. “It’s no surprise to me that so many Sanditonians are sharing their stories via Domino, because they’re so active on Twitter et cetera. Again, it’s that community pride. I’m interested to see how the app works and if it will help with our business.”
The trailer will be at Saturday’s beach cleanup organized by Sanditon Action and at the summer concert at the Sanditon Amphitheater next Friday. The menu changes each week and they often ask customers for requests or suggestions.

Kathleen Butler (pictured above) may have passed away eight years ago, but Margaret Taylor remains devoted to the buisiness and is still a well known figure beloved by all (human and animal) in Sanditon.
