Fellow Sanditonians! I cannot tell you how excited I am to announce that our little town has been recognized by the International Association of Web Television. Pemberley Digital’s Domino beta test, Welcome to Sanditon, has been nominated for an IAWTV Award for best Social Media/Interactive Experience. (I was going to tweet out the news earlier, but once I typed out the category, I’d pretty much run out of characters for the rest of the message.)
Here at the mayor’s office, we couldn’t be prouder of all of our residents. You all helped make the beta test a great success, and I’m so happy to see that recognized. So as you see each other at the Cinematheque, on your way to the spin gym, or at Clara’s ice cream shop, give yourselves a hearty congratulations!
See the full list of nominees.
As satisfying as the conclusion to Welcome to Sanditon was, we here at LeakyNews were left with a few questions we wanted answered. So we did what any good reporter would do– we called up the Sanditon Mayor’s Office, hoping to score an interview with Mayor Tom Parker.
Unfortunately, Mayor Parker was out speaking to Ed’s aunt about a new business venture (something about donkey’s-milk soaps and bath products, which are supposedly very good for the skin), but we were able to chat for a bit with his cousin, Sidney Parker, currently serving as Assistant to the Mayor of Sanditon. A transcript of the interview is below. Read on to hear about how Sanditon views the Domino beta test now that it’s over, some interesting hints about Pemberley Digital’s next venture, and if that mysterious auto-dialed call from Domino was really what it seemed!
Leaky News (LN): Now that the Domino beta test is over, how does the mayor’s office feel that it went?
Sidney Parker (SP): The mayor’s office feels that it was a thrilling experiment in technological partnership!
LN: No offense, but you sound like you’re quoting your cousin, Mayor Tom Parker.

Inspired by the lovely @TheClaraBreton of @SanditonScoops, we’ve decided to include home recipes in our cookbook. Home cooks, get your fun recipes in!
Remember, in order for a recipe to be yours, you must change at least two ingredients from someone else’s recipe.
Because of this new development, we’ve extended the deadline by ONE WEEK. Submissions will be accepted until Friday, June 7 at 5pm EST.
Use our submit button to send in your recipe for inclusion. Looking forward to seeing your recipes!

What’s better than fresh food at the farmer’s market? Or entertaining flashmobs? How about both of them together?
This Friday the 24th @SanditonDance and @SanditonFarMar are doing a collaboration where @SanditonDance will choreograph a flash mob. What will they be doing? Who knows, they could be doing anything with a flashmob- but rest assured, it will be totally awesome. Don’t doubt that.
There’s a few names, that you may possibly recognize, who will be in the flash mob tomorrow; @RegencyFlorist @SanditonStyle @SanditonPublish @hazel_sanditon @Thriftnsanditon @AllieRBenson
Will you go out and enjoy the flash mob tomorrow? It’s at the Corner of Mansfield and Northanger. I’ll be sure to be there :)

The Sanditon Library has unveiled its new logo. It depicts an open book with a tree growing out of it. On the tree’s branches are icons that represent geography/travel, music, theater, sports, and science. This is intended to convey the notion that the Library is not just about books; rather, it is about learning and growth, ideas and imagination. There is also another layer of meaning in that not only does the Library have books about these and other topics, but it also has CDs (music), DVDs (theater), maps (geography), computers (science), and games (sports). In addition, the Library offers numerous programs and services that incorporates many, if not all, of these elements.
The new logo was designed by the creative folks at Sanditon Pixels (@SanditonPixels), who went through many iterations in order to accommodate our ideas and suggestions.
Come visit the library!
